Teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito could end up staying at Inter Milan next season.

This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that Bologna, Torino, Cagliari, and Empoli all want the 19-year-old on loan – but that it’s not a foregone conclusion he’ll leave Inter at all.

One thing that’s clear is that Inter do not want to sell Pio Esposito on a permanent basis.

Reportedly, Napoli made an offer of around €20 million for the teenage striker. They didn’t want to sign him on loan – they want to sign Pio Esposito outright.

However, reports FCIN, Inter rejected that bid from the Partenopei.

Meanwhile, from the Premier League the likes of Manchester United and Leicester City have reportedly expressed an interest in Pio Esposito’s signature.

But in the meantime, Pio Esposito continues to shine on loan with Spezia in Serie B.

And Inter continue to see Pio Esposito as very much a part of their future plans.

Francesco Pio Esposito Could Stay At Inter Milan Next Season

For some time, it has seemed likely that next season would see Pio Esposito lean Inter on loan for a club in Serie A.

The teenage striker has spent the last two seasons with Spezia in Serie B. And playing in the second division has certainly helped his development.

However, there is now a feeling that Pio Esposito is clearly ready to test the waters in the top flight.

If Spezia were to win promotion, then the Ligurians could bring Pio Esposito for yet another season.

But on the other hand, there would be other clubs in Serie A with an interest in the 19-year-old.

Among these, reports FCIN, would be Torino, Bologna, Cagliari, and Empoli.

Therefore, there will certainly be no lack of options as far as Pio Esposito’s future.

But on the other hand, reports FCIN, Inter will take a close look at what they have in Esposito at the end of the current season.

The 19-year-old will return to Inter when his loan with Spezia expires at the end of June.

And then, Pio Esposito will be part of Inter’s squad for the Club World Cup during the summer.

From there, Inter will make a decision.

And with the Nerazzurri seeing the likes of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa depart at the end of their contracts, they will certainly need to bring in at least one new striker in the summer.

And, reports FCIN, it is hardly impossible that making Pio Esposito part of the first team picture could represent a solution in this respect.
