Inter’s home match against rivals Juventus will see brothers Marcus and Kephren Thuram one against each other for the first time since moving to the Serie A, a meeting that sparked Simone Inzaghi’s memory of the games played against his sibling Filippo.

The Nerazzurri manager recalled the first time he faced Filippo Inzaghi in a Serie A clash between Juventus and Piacenza, which only marked the first chapter of a story that would see the two compete for the league title until the last match-day.

Inzaghi: Thuram brothers will remember their Inter-Juventus encounter ‘forever’

“It’s a feeling that remains inside,” Simone Inzaghi said in a press conference, as reported by TMW.

“I faced Filippo [Inzaghi] eight times as a footballer, a few less as a manager. I think about the first Juventus-Piacenza at the Delle Alpi; it was something exciting that lasted.

“Marcus and Kephren already faced each other in the French League Cup, but tomorrow it’ll be Inter against Juventus and that feeling will stay with them forever.

“If I think about mine, I remember that first game, and then we also competed for the title until the last match throughout our career, with many emotions.

“This question makes me immediately think of that Juventus-Piacenza that I lost 1-0 with Pippo’s goal.”

Marcus Thuram started his season in devastating fashion, as he scored seven goals from his first eight Serie A appearances, also helping Inter pick up a late victory away to Young Boys with the first net of his Champions League campaign mid-week.

Kephren Thuram moved to Juventus from Nice last summer and played six league games so far under Thiago Motta, although he only started in three of them. However, he’s set to be included in Juventus’ starting XI against Inter as his coach faces numerous absences, with midfielders Theun Koopmeiners and Douglas Luiz ruled out with injuries.
