Wednesday has brought about plenty of conversation in the way of potential exits from Manchester City, with little to no progress on the signings front.

On the departures front, day 41 of the transfer market brought about quotes from players and Pep Guardiola concerning outgoings, whilst there is also intensifying interest in one of the club’s brightest sparks from the opening game of pre-season.

There is also official news from within the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City announced the signing of 12 Academy players to scholarship agreements ahead of the start of the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Following day 41, and after Manchester City finally returned to first-team on-field match action over in the United States, here is everything you need to know to stay up to date with all of the club’s transfer market activities this summer!

Pep Guardiola says he doesn’t know if Ederson will stay at Manchester City, and that the goalkeeper “has to make a decision”. However, it is clarified that there has been no contact from any club recently. Pep: “He has to see other options. I’d like him to stay but it depends on other clubs. I don’t know the situation, no contacts in the last days, it’s a question of training, being with us until the transfer window finishes and we’ll see…” (Press Conference)

Pep Guardiola says “we will see” on Kalvin PhillipsManchester City future. Pep: “He’s training really well and made a really good first-half. He came from an injury, that’s why we didn’t give him more minutes. But we’ll see, like all situations I don’t know what’s going to happen. He knows the situation, and we’ll see…” (Press Conference)

Kevin De Bruyne will remain at Manchester City for one more season at least after discussing a move to Saudi Arabia with his wife, and is reluctant to uproot his children. The pair have particular reservations about changing school of their eldest son. De Bruyne is now poised to turn his back on a three-year-deal worth £156 million at Al Ittihad. James McAtee: “If you look at Phil [Foden], Rico [Lewis], Oscar [Bobb], they’ve been patient and been rewarded. My mindset is definitely different. I’m going to see how this tour goes. Obviously it’s my dream to play for this club. I’m not really fussed about minutes. I just want to learn from the best manager, best players and it’s not really about minutes. I’ve gone out and got minutes, with the physicality of the men’s game. I know the demands and quality in this team. If I wasn’t to get minutes it’s not something I’d be upset with but my aim is to prove myself and get in the team as much as I can. I need to earn that…” (Jack Gaughan, MailSport)

Borussia Dortmund are haggling over a fee for Yan Couto, with Manchester City valuing the Brazilian at around £30 million. Issa Kabore is also on the market for £15 million and a target for Galatasaray. (Jack Gaughan, MailSport)

Manchester City have fielded enquiries from clubs interested in Oscar Bobb, with clubs keen to discover whether the club are open to sanctioning an exit on a permanent or loan basis. Newcastle United are interested, while Borussia Dortmund have been monitoring the player over the past year. A minimum of three clubs are circling, although Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the player, and hoping the possibility of more extensive amounts of game time will sway Oscar Bobb to snub proposals.
