Thomas Müller’s move to Los Angeles FC is starting to take shape, according to Bild.
The Bayern Munich legend has previously been linked with the MLS side, who act as a partner club to the Bavarians.
However, following initial talks, both parties were far from an agreement due to financial issues. So much so that Adidas was debating whether to pay the difference in order to get the 35-year-old midfielder to the US.
However, following LAFC’s sale of Olivier Giroud to Lille, the club now has the financial backing to secure Müller’s signature.
After recent talks and an improved offer, a final decision is now expected regarding the potential transfer. However, all signs indicate that Müller will sign for LAFC with a future role at Bayern, should he wish, following his retirement, whenever that should be.
As per the report, a total annual salary of €4m could be offered. This is thanks to the “Designated Player Rule” in the MLS, which allows three top salaries above the normal limit for the league.
