Thomas Frank says he wants to build on the job Ange Postecoglou did at Spurs and turn the club into “serial winners”.
Frank has replaced Postecoglou as head coach, who was sacked after finishing 17th in the Premier League table but despite winning the Europa League.
“Huge congratulations to the club, to the team, huge congratulations to Ange,” Frank said on Tottenham’s trophy win last season.
“He will forever be a legend in Tottenham and congratulations to him for that. I think it’s very important to understand that we all stand on the shoulders of others so I’m going in on the foundation Ange has built, and his coaching staff, and I’m very humble about that.
“I’ll do my very best to continue the great work he put in.
“The feeling and the excitement and the joy and the happiness you can see on the fans’ faces and in the pictures we saw was… wow.
“Hopefully we can create more of those moments. That would be the ultimate dream to do that and build on that.
“No one can say they are not winners. The team and the players are winners. Now we need to see if we can become serial winners in the future.”
Frank also says there is a squad in place to be successful, continuing: “I think it’s a very talented squad, I think it’s a very good squad and I’m very excited about working with them.
“I’ve seen some fantastic performances from the team over the last years and I’m very excited about that, there’s big potential.
“Of course, I’m looking from the outside so I’m looking forward to getting to know them, to be around them and to understand them, to work with them on the training pitch. That’s where you get the really big understanding and understand the relationships between players and how you can get the best out of them.
“I have an idea already, my head is spinning, how can we we play? How can we put them together? I’m looking forward to that.”
