FC Barcelona and La Liga have not seen eye to eye for quite some time now. The two entities have been involved in several conflicts over the last few years, and the Catalan club’s fans have enough reasons to see the league authorities with a feeling of mistrust.

Both these parties have clashed over several topics, including Barcelona’s financial status, refereeing, registration of players, the Negreira case, etc.

However, as COPE has reported, La Liga President Javier Tebas made some interesting comments about the Blaugrana club as he gave a speech at the Forum Europa. Among other things that he talked about related to the Catalan club, he also commended their recent results.

Referring to some of the big wins that the Blaugranes have had in the last few matches, especially the ones against Real Valladolid, Girona, and Villarreal, the La Liga head seemed quite content with the fact that they had not strengthened their squad much last summer and complimented the Catalan team in a joking manner:

“Good thing they didn’t sign more players, because they’d win matches 10-0.”

Javier Tebas also went on to claim that Barcelona are one of the favorites to win La Liga and the UEFA Champions League titles: “Barcelona is a candidate to win La Liga and the Champions League.”

There is no doubt that Barcelona have been playing at an exceptional level, and that too, despite having several of their key players unavailable due to injuries.

Important players like Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Marc Bernal, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, and Frenkie de Jong, etc. all remain unavailable due to their injuries, but Flick has still been able to get the required results while also making his team play very attractive football.
