Heading into Manchester City’s Premier League fixture against West Ham there are several City players in doubt for tomorrow’s match. Ruben Dias, John Stones, Matheus Nunes and Ederson are suffering from injuries. Pep Guardiola has told the media today that Manchester City’s injury situation is similar to the one they faced before their 2-nil win over Leicester City last weekend. Based on the information Guardiola shared today a host of players remain unavailable for the match at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola was asked about the condition of his squad during his pre-game press conference. He told the media: “The injury situation is quite similar to where we were at Leicester. Ruben Dias is getting better but he will not be ready for tomorrow.”
There was, however, a positive update on the condition of Ederson. City’s number-one keeper has been battling an injury of late. When asked about Ederson’s condition Guardiola said: “Yesterday he trained better. It was the first training session without disturbance in his leg.”
Based on the information provided by Pep Guardiola it appears that John Stones, Matheus Nunes and Ruben Dias will all miss tomorrow’s match. They will join Rodri and Oscar Bobb on the sidelines for tomorrow’s match at the Etihad. The return of Ederson is good news for Manchester City. Although he is more likely to return to the bench based on the strong recent performances from Stefan Ortega.
Manchester City will be desperate to pick up three points against West Ham tomorrow. But they will have to do so without five players as Manchester City’s injury situation is yet to fully clear up. The hope is that there is relief in sight as the news on Ruben Dias’ recovery suggests.
