One of Chelsea’s top defensive targets for this summer has spoken out on his future and offered some insights as to what may happen.

The news comes after Chelsea played out a boring 0-0 draw against Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon in what was another underwhelming performance.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea ARE looking to sign a new goalkeeper this summer and have world class name on the table!! 👀

Enzo Maresca frustrated Chelsea fans once again with a heavily rotated starting lineup in such an important game in the race for Champions League qualification, and then he annoyed them even more with some of the excuses he came out with after the game, even blaming the weather!

The Blues boss was also frustrated though, pointing out the fact that his attackers are currently not doing enough and has called for more goals from them all.

Maresca and his players must keep going now and onto the next game tonight in the Conference League as they look to try and win some silverware this season.

Attentions will soon turn to the summer transfer market as the season draws to a close, and we expect Chelsea to be busy in terms of new arrivals and player sales/loans.

Blues want a new defender

Chelsea continue to be linked to new centre backs for this window, and it’s been reported that Dean Huijsen of Bournemouth is one player near the top of their list, but they might face competition for Spain.

It was revealed earlier this year that Huijsen’s contract includes a release clause worth just £50m (as reported by 90min).

“I have a contract until 2030 and I have an exit clause,” Huijsen has now told El Chiringuito.

The defender did, however, suggest there could be some unknown details to his release clause which may not make it so straightforward to trigger.

“How much is my exit clause? The truth is, I don’t really understand it myself,” Huijsen laughed.

“Do a lot of teams want me? I don’t know,” Huijsen said before being pushed directly on interest from Real Madrid.

“Madrid is a big team, and every player wants to play as much as possible. Do I want to play for Real Madrid? I don’t know. We’ll see. A friend called me and said, ‘Go to Real Madrid’. I laughed. ‘What am I supposed to say?’. Another friend is also pushing Barcelona.”
