Good evening Denis. What is your analysis of this match?

It’s hard to say. I simply think that PSG are superior, we’re not going to hide it. Today, they proved it again and we weren’t able to unsettle them more than that, it’s a shame. They are strong collectively, hats off to them. They showed that they deserved to have this lead in the standings.

I think they made a tactical change that caused us a lot of problems by putting Ousmane Dembélé on one side. We didn't know how to react correctly and we paid for it with a defeat and four goals conceded.

What is the team missing compared to the start of the season?

We need to be a little more consistent and avoid mistakes because most of the goals conceded have come from that. In 2025, we have also conceded more. So we need to defend better, it will come through work in order to regain the defensive rigor that we had at the start of the season.

Is it a good thing to play Benfica again quickly in the Champions League?

Yes, yes, clearly. It’s up to us to switch over in order to be ready against Benfica. It’s a very important match, it will be up to us to do things well. We lost against in the league phase, and we want to do better and win. It will be up to us to be perfect because it will not be easy.

The reaction of Mika Biereth

We knew their qualities before the match and tried to do our best to minimize them. That's what we managed to do in the first half by playing almost on an equal level. But when you play against a team of this level, they can make the difference at any time. Unfortunately, in 10 minutes after the restart, we lost this match.

Mika BierethHis analysis of the match

Good evening Mika. What are your feelings after this match against PSG?

We knew their qualities before the match and tried to do our best to minimize them. That’s what we managed to do in the first half by playing almost on an equal level. But when you play against a team of this level, they can make the difference at any time. Unfortunately, in 10 minutes after the restart, we lost this match. We will have to analyze all of this carefully and try to come back stronger.

How can one explain this difference between the two halves?

Honestly, it is too early to analyse this in the heat of the moment. We need to recover well now and quickly turn to the next match against Benfica. I would not say that there was a huge difference, but you know the quality of these players in important moments.

They have the ability to change the course of a match on details in a very short time. That is what happened in just ten minutes in the second half. They are really showing an incredible level of play at the moment.

What can you learn from this match?

From a personal point of view, it’s a match that can teach me a lot, against two of the best central defenders in the league who are very strong physically. Especially since it was my first time against Paris Saint-Germain! I tried to do my best, and I think I’ll learn from it. Dembélé? He’s a great player, very fast, very technical and who scores goals at crucial moments. He had a very good match.

Will this match help you prepare for Benfica?

I think every match is useful to prepare for a Champions League match. Today, unfortunately, things didn’t go in our favour but we’ll do everything to get a better result on Wednesday against Benfica.
