Earlier this week Rudy Galleti reported that Kevin De Bruyne had agreed personal terms with Al-Ittihad. The report from Galleti had made the idea of De Bruyne departing Manchester City this summer seem more real than ever before. But now a new report suggests that De Bruyne’s path to the Saudi Pro League may be a lot more difficult than previously thought.

Fabrizio Romano has reported in his exclusive Daily Briefing column that De Bruyne’s potential move to Al-Ittihad is in doubt. The transfer expert reports that the off-field situation at the Saudi Pro League is complicated. Romano adds that Al-Ittihad’s move to hire Stefano Pioli as manager could collapse. It is also reported by Romano that the club’s president may also leave this summer. Furthermore, Romano reports that Al-Ittihad’s move for Kevin De Bruyne isn’t advancing at this stage. Lastly, Romano adds that this could change later in the summer.

It appears that De Bruyne isn’t departing Manchester City anytime soon.

Based on Romano’s new report it appears that Kevin De Bruyne isn’t leaving Manchester City anytime soon. While he also reports that the situation could change Al-Ittihad’s off-field situation doesn’t seem ideal for Kevin De Bruyne to land in. That would be to the world champions’ benefit. Despite getting on in years the Belgian international is still one of Pep Guardiola’s most important players. He is a leader in the City squad and a match-winner on his day. There is no doubt that Manchester City’s chances of success during the 24/25 season are better with De Bruyne in their squad. Based on Romano’s new report the chances of that being the case foes seem more likely.

Fabrizio Romano’s new report is good news for Manchester City. The hope is now it will remain the case when the transfer window closes. It will be no easy task for the club to replace De Bruyne. Al-Ittihad’s off-field situation may mean it’s a bridge City have to cross in a year’s time and not this summer.
