Via kicker, it has been revealed the amount of money each Bundesliga side could make depending on their performances in this season’s Champions League.

Bayer Leverkusen, VfB Stuttgart, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are all set to benefit from the €18.62m that each club will receive from simply participating in the competition. This is a €3m increase from last season’s fee.

There are then performance-related, each win will earn teams €2.1m and a draw €700k. The remaining money will then be divided up among the teams depending on their finishing position. Clubs who then finished between first and eighth will receive €2m and ninth to 16th €1m. Then there will also be bonuses for reaching the different stages, teams reaching the round of 16 will share €11m, €12.5m for the quarter-finals, €15m for the semi-finals, €18.5m for reaching the final an extra €6m if you win the whole thing.

Finally, there will also be money based on a TV revenue ranking amounting to a total of €853m.

This evening, Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart begin their Champions League campaigns with games against Dinamo Zagreb and Real Madrid. Borussia Dortmund then travel to Club Brugge on Wednesday before Bayer Leverkusen also travel to Feyenoord and RB Leipzig are also away at Atletico Madrid.
