The Champions League is back and European football returns to San Siro. Inter host RB Leipzig at 21:00 CET on Tuesday 26 November on matchday 5 of the League Phase. The teams have a lot of distance between them as it stands: Inter go into the game at the Meazza on 10 points from four games, while the German side have 0 points.
RB Leipzig have had a tricky start to the League Phase of the new-look Champions League: the German side are yet to put a point on the board. Following four defeats in their four matches, RB Leipzig have 0 points, level with Sturm Graz, Young Boys, Crvena zvezda and Slovan Bratislava. However, it must be said that Marco Rose's side have had a very difficult run in the competition, having played against Atlético de Madrid (2-1), Juventus (3-2), Liverpool (1-0) and Celtic (3-1).
In the Bundesliga, meanwhile, they currently sit in third place on 21 points, two behind Eintracht Frankfurt and eight behind league leaders Bayern, but Rose's side did lose 4-3 away at Hoffenheim last time out. RB Leipzig's last league win was on 26 October and have only taken one point in their last three games (against Borussia Mönchengladbach) following defeats to Dortmund and Hoffenheim. They were also beaten by Celtic at Parkhead in the Champions League in that time. Their last win in all competitions was against St Pauli in the DFB-Pokal on 29 October.
he Nerazzurri should certainly be aware of RB Leipzig's offensive firepower: they have scored 22 goals in 15 games in the league and Champions League this season. Their current leading goalscorers are the talented youngsters Benjamin Sesko and Lois Openda with seven and six goals respectively; both of them have won recognition in recent seasons due to their impressive performances.
