After Chelsea lost to Man U last week, Ian Maatsen got in trouble with a few Chelsea fans for sending a string of encouraging emojis as a reply to a Manchester United player’s Instagram post
This week he’s learned his lesson – his comment after yesterday’s win over Sheffield United was a reply to Cole Palmer, whom he called “the coldest man” after another match winning performance.
Poor old Ian, he’s having a tough old season. After shining in preseason and turning down a deadline day move back to Burnley he looked set to be at least a rotation option for Mauricio Pochettino.
Instead he’s been stuck on the bench – yesterday, even with Marc Cucurella, Reece James, Malo Gusto and Ben Chilwell out, he still was only able to appear in the 93rd minute as a sub.
What a wasted season. No wonder he’s spending so much time commenting on social media…
