Queens Park Rangers have had a busy transfer window as they strive to improve on their 15th-place finish last Championship season.

With a new look to their side with the likes of Richard Kone, Karamoko Dembélé, and Kwame Poku joining the attack, Hoops fans can be excited to see their forward line firing in the near future.

Despite arrivals bringing a buzz to Loftus Road, 2026 will sure be a busy time for QPR, with there being seven players coming to the end of their contracts, including some key names.

Decisions will have to be made on which players get offered extensions and who will depart from West London, and so Football League World takes a look at those R's players who are set to depart the club as free agents in 2026 - as per Transfermarkt.

Paul Nardi

French goalkeeper Paul Nardi is one of the names among the list with his contract set to expire at the end of June 2026.

Since signing from Belgian side Gent as a free agent last summer, Nardi quickly introduced himself to the QPR faithful by becoming their number one last season.

The 31-year-old made 45 Championship appearances for the Hoops and achieved nine clean sheets. However, this season has been no easy ride for Nardi as the young Joe Walsh seems to be manager Julien Stephan's first choice between the sticks.

With there being clear competition for the starting spot in goal for QPR, Nardi's short time left at the club could spell danger for him and put an end to the goalkeeper debate.

Jake Clarke-Salter

27-year-old centre-back Jake Clarke-Salter got off to a promising start to his QPR career after signing from Premier League giants Chelsea in 2022, as he made 16 league appearances in his first season, followed by 33 the year after.

Despite his reliability at the back, being known for his strength in duels and aerial prowess, Clarke-Salter has a track record of being prone to injury as he goes into his fourth year with the Hoops.

Having only featured eleven times last season and is yet to make an appearance in this 2025/26 campaign, Clarke-Salter's QPR career is likely to come to a sad and sorry end in 2026 due to his inability of gaining a run of games in the team.

He is contracted at Loftus Road until June next year.

Michael Frey

Swiss international Michael Frey had an impressive season for the Hoops last year, as he found the net eight times in the league and provided 1 assist in 29 appearances.

However, like Clarke-Salter, Frey is no stranger to injury and has been kept out of the side early on this season with calf problems.

Frey, who has spent the past season-and-a-half at QPR, has been a solid forward option for the West London club, but with new arrivals likely to take his place and consistent injury keeping him out of the team, his successful stint at the club may be all over.

His contract expires at the end of the season.

Ziyad Larkeche

French defender Ziyad Larkeche was a common feature in QPR's 2023/24 season, as he made 20 league appearances for the club.

Since then, however, he has struggled to maintain his place in the side, as backed up by his loan move to Dundee FC last season.

After gaining vital experience in the Scottish Premiership last season, the 22-year-old played a part in QPR's pre-season campaign as he featured in four of their five warm-up fixtures but has since not been named in the squad for their Championship openers.

With his contract expiring on 30 June 2026, we could well see Larkeche move on to new pastures as he looks to get his professional career up and running.

Paul Smyth

Northern Irishman Paul Smyth wass a taple in QPR's forward line under former boss Marti Cifuentes, making 87 league appearances for the Hoops over the course of two seasons.

After signing on a free transfer from Leyton Orient in the summer of 2023, despite Smyth's performance levels being consistent, his goalscoring form that was seen at the O's has been somewhat lacking in Blue and White.

Merely picking up four league goals in his time is sure to be a concern for Stephan, who could adopt a ruthless approach to Smyth's future with the likes of proven talisman, Kone, now in the building.

Smyth's deal expires in June 2026.

Steve Cook

34-year-old veteran Steve Cook signed for the Hoops in 2023 on a four-year deal that is now in its final year.

The experienced centre-back has brought about stability in the QPR backline over his time at the club, and has chipped in at the other end of the pitch too, by scoring four goals.

Cook has made a solid start to this campaign, having played a role in their first two Championship games, but with his contract drawing to a close next summer, you'd seem to think so is Cook's time on the pitch.

Having spent 11 years at Bournemouth, then subsequently moving to Nottingham Forest and QPR, Cook has had a flourishing career in the EFL and Premier League that looks to be soon drawing to a close.

Taylor Richards

After transferring permanently from Brighton to QPR in the summer of 2023 after a loan spell at Loftus Road in 2022/23, attacking midfielder Taylor Richards' career in a Hoops shirt has never really got off the ground, having made just over 20 appearances for the club so far.

Like others who are also coming to the end of their contracts, Richards has been bitterly unlucky with injuries in his young career, still only being 24 years of age.

Richards spent last year on loan at Cambridge United but didn't leave a lasting impact due to injury.

With injury concerns being a big worry, it wouldn't come as a surprise if he were to move on at the end of the season upon the expiration of his contract.
