Arsenal teenager Max Dowman has become just the third 15-year-old to appear in the Premier League.

The midfielder made his debut during Saturday’s fixture with Leeds United at the Emirates, becoming one of the Premier League’s youngest-ever players.

Dowman caught the eye during Arsenal’s pre-season campaign, having progressed through the Hale End academy. He has regularly played above his age group and is now a Premier League player, despite not starting his final year at school until next month.

At just 15 years and 235 days, Dowman was introduced as a substitute in North London, though he just missed out on the Premier League record.

The landmark belongs to teammate Ethan Nwaneri, who became the youngest Premier League player ever when he debuted for Arsenal against Brentford in September 2022.

The only other 15-year-old to feature in the Premier League is Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga, who appeared for the Foxes last season.
