West Ham are set to make a significant bid for Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.

The Danish international, who worked with new Hammers goalkeeping coach Casper Ankergren previously at Brondby, is understood to be keen on a move to east London, with a move from West Ham expected this week.

West Ham have already name dropped the highly-rated goalkeeper in a recent online post to announce Ankergren, suggesting there is a high level of confidence that a deal for the player can be realised.

Leicester City, who will be playing in the Championship next season, are struggling financially and are expected to be wanting around £20m for the goalkeeper, its expected that West Ham will test the water with a bid in the region of £15m this week.

We understand that Graham Potter wants a new number one having not been overly impressed with Alphonse Areola, with the Frenchman likely to want a move away in January, should he be demoted to number two under the Hammers boss.
