Sky U.K. reports that Stuttgart are preparing to send attacker Jacob Bruun Larsen back to Burnley. The longtime Bundesliga professional previously worked with the Clarets on loan during the 2023/24 campaign. This time, the 26-year-old will be heading to Turf Moor on a permanent basis.
Bruun Larsen was able to recapture his form during his recent Premier League stint, scoring seven goals in 36 appearances during his time on the Isle. The one-time €20m-valued attacker raised his estimated market value from €3m to €8m whilst working under Vincent Kompany.
Unfortunately, it’s been more of the same for the former Lyngby academy man since he returned to Germany. His Bundesliga club of six seasons, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, opted to finally give up on him during the January 2024 transfer window. This despite the fact that his production numbers weren’t terrible.
Bruun Larsen was sold to Stuttgart for a paltry €1.7m. He did score one goal and register two assists in 17 league appearances for Sebastian Hoeneß’ VfB. Prior to his departure from Hoffenheim, Bruun Larsen also scored both a dramatic late winner and equalizer in the league for Christian Ilzer’s TSG.
None of this prevented his estimated market value from sliding back down to €5m. Stuttgart may be preparing to sell him for even less.
There remains quite a bit going on between Burnley and Bundesliga clubs at the moment. St. Pauli recently signed striker Andréas Hountondji away from the newly promoted club.
Burnley Midfielder Han-Noah Massengo also appears headed to Augsburg.
