Stéphanie Frappart has been appointed to referee the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 final between England and Spain this Sunday in Geneva, marking a milestone in the French official’s career. The 41-year-old will take charge of her first major international final, as announced to day in an official communiqué from UEFA.Frappart will be joined by fellow Frenchwoman Camille Soriano as assistant referee, along with Italian duo Francesca di Monte and Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi, completing a multi-national, all-female officiating team.A FIFA-listed referee since 2011, Frappart’s CV includes 111 UEFA matches officiated, including three at Euro 2025 – two group-stage fixtures and the quarter-final between Italy and Norway.Frappart was the first woman to referee in Ligue 1 in 2019 and has since broken new ground with appearances in the UEFA Super Cup (2019), the Champions League group stage (2020) and the men’s World Cup finals in Qatar in 2022, where she officiated the group match between Germany and Costa Rica.

She also served as fourth official for the Euro 2022 final, when England defeated Germany 2-1 at Wembley. This Sunday, she will be the one at the centre of the action as England look to defend their title against two-time champions Spain.GFFN | George Boxall
