Tottenham youngster Alfie Dorrington is set for a loan move away from the club, boss Ange Postecoglou says.
The 19-year-old has made just one appearance for the first team this season, coming off the bench late on in the 5-0 Premier League win over Southampton.
Spurs take on National League side Tamworth in the FA Cup on Sunday but asked whether the youngster will be involved, Postecoglou stressed he would benefit from a loan move.
“Alfie is training with us and he has been around the first-team squad and part of the first-team squad,” he said.
“He had a pretty significant injury which kept him out of football for quite a while. But he is part of the squad and he probably needs to get some game time so we will look for a loan for him.”
Another teenager in Mikey Moore is set to be involved in the game, Postecoglou confirmed, having recently recovered from illness.
Spurs go into the game against Tamworth following a 1-0 Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg win over Liverpool and insists he will not take the non-league side lightly.
“No, it gives me an opportunity to pick a team who I think will win a game of football for us,” he said when asked if it’s a chance for young players to impress.
“The ones who will play will be the ones who will do that. It’s good getting Mikey (Moore) back and I think it is important we will give him some game time on the weekend but aside from that it will be a time who most importantly we think can get us through to the next round.”
