Tottenham Hotspur supporters have gathered to protest against chairman Daniel Levy and the club’s ENIC ownership ahead of Sunday’s fixture with Liverpool.

Around 300 fans joined together outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with ‘Levy out’ banners, while black balloons were handed out and will be displayed in the stadium at kick-off.

The supporters are protesting against Levy’s running of the club, where their complaints include a focus on revenue rather than success on the field. Disgruntled fans have objected to rising costs for match-attending fans and the recent hiring and firing of managers, as the club’s trophy drought approaches 17 years.

Levy has helped Spurs create arguably the world’s best stadium and a state-of-the-art training facility, though there is frustration that off-field improvements have not been translated to success on it.

After missing out on Champions League qualification, Spurs broke their transfer record to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth. However, the remainder of the club’s recruitment focused on emerging talent, who have featured only sporadically in the Premier League this season.

During Thursday’s Carabao Cup win against Manchester United, the chant “I don’t care about Levy, he doesn’t care about me” was audible throughout.
