Spurs consider Simons in search for No. 10 | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur’s main focus in the closing days of the transfer window is securing a No 10 after missing out on key targets Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze, according to reports.

Sky Sports News say that Spurs are the latest Premier League club to show interest in RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons – though at this point it remains just an inquiry, with Chelsea viewed as the leading contenders for his signature.

Gibbs-White was regarded as the perfect fit for head coach Thomas Frank, but Tottenham insist there was little more they could have done during what they describe as a strange few weeks with Nottingham Forest.

Eze’s last-minute move to Arsenal was a significant setback yet Tottenham maintain, as they did with Gibbs-White, that they exhausted every avenue to complete a deal, believing they had agreements in place with both Crystal Palace and the player.

Simons has netted 22 goals and provided 22 assists in 78 appearances for Leipzig since moving from PSV to the Bundesliga club in 2023.
