Arne Slot has again said there is no update on the contract situations of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool.

The key trio are all out of contract at the season’s end and there is concern among the fanbase as the situations extend towards the winter.

Each of the players will be free to discuss pre-contract agreements with foreign sides in January, with Salah a target for the Saudi Pro League and Alexander-Arnold admired at Real Madrid.

Speaking ahead of facing Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend, Slot said he expected the talk around Alexander-Arnold’s future to increase after an impressive performance from the right-back for England during the international break.

However, the Dutchman said he cannot say ‘anything’ on potential extensions for the trio at this stage.

“What was happening was that they were with their national teams. Trent [Alexander-Arnold] scored a fantastic free-kick like you probably saw. Same question, same answer,” Slot said at his pre-match press conference.

“There will always be talks about our players and it’s a good thing that you ask about it, It means they do well because if they played badly, then you wouldn’t have asked. I cannot tell you anything about that at this moment.

“Trent has been very good for us. He was and is important in our attacking part of the game, I also like the way he has defended until now in the game he’s played for us. He made a step up I think, he’s done well for us and England, if I’m correct in the four matches he’s played [for England], he got man of the match three times.”

Bradley has ‘bright future’ at Liverpool

One player who could benefit should Alexander-Arnold leave Anfield is Conor Bradley, who broke into the first-team picture last season. His minutes have been restricted due to Alexander-Arnold’s presence at right-back, though Slot believes the 21-year-old has a ‘bright future’ at Liverpool.

“I think it’s going to be a bright future for him because he is a very good player and very good players is what we need here at Liverpool. He’s done, last season especially, really well when he had to replace Trent and now Trent has played a lot but he is a very good player. Although he has big competition from Trent, normally very good players find their way on to the team and that is what I also expect of him, in the future at this club.”
