Referee: Petersen in charge

Martin Petersen, 38, from Stuttgart will oversee his 67th Bundesliga match and his fifth involving Borussia Dortmund. BVB lost 2-0 in Augsburg in September 2020, while there were home wins against Hertha and Köln in March and October 2021, and most recently a 1-0 victory in Hoffenheim in February 2023. Alexander Sather and Robert Wessel will assist on the sidelines. Dr. Felix Brych will be the "VAR".

Facts: Malen, the man for counter-attacking goals

Donyell Malen scored his eighth and ninth goals of the season in the 3-0 home win over Freiburg last time out and thus equalled his personal record from last season. The Dutchman has racked up 23 goals in his 73 Bundesliga appearances. Incidentally, he scored his first away goal in a BVB shirt in the 3-1 triumph in Wolfsburg in November 2021. Malen has played a part in Borussia Dortmund being the joint-best counter-attacking team in the division along with Bayer Leverkusen: he has scored four of BVB's nine counter-attack goals – no other Bundesliga player has more.

The match can be watched live on TV via Sky. The pre-match coverage starts at 14:00 CET. Britta Hofmann will present the programme with Dietmar Hamann as the pundit.
