Chelsea look to be making good progress on a number of fronts at the moment in terms of sales, with Renato Veiga close to a move to Villareal and several other deals seeming to be finally close to getting over the line.
One deal could actually be a double dip for the Blues, who could sell one and loan one in the same package.
The sale would be Carney Chukwuemeka. After joining Dortmund on loan in January he impressed all the way up to and including the Club World Cup and the German side expressed interest in signing him permanently on many occasions. However they didn’t want to pay the full fee of the option in the loan, and so far no solution has been found.
It looks like what might finally make the deal is the inclusion of the loan of central defender Aaron Anselmino in the deal. That would solve two of Chelsea’s problems at once – selling a player they want to sell and loaning one they want to loan.
Chelsea say Aaron Anselmino can go on loan as part of Chukwuemeka deal.
Patrick Berger of Sky Germany says that talks are “advancing” over Chukwuemeka, and that Anselmino has given Dortmund the green light.
Chelsea have apparently made it clear to Dortmund they only will allow the loan if the permanent deal is concluded.
Meanwhile Enzo Maresca made his thoughts on the Argentine youngster clear in his press conference today:
“Aaron is training with us. He’s training very hard. He’s a fantastic boy,” the Chelsea manager said.
“Good player, but he needs to play games. He needs to go, he needs to play games. So he’s another player that is waiting for a solution.”
