Manchester City locked horns with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they focused on securing a good result on the road in the UEFA Champions League. Pep Guardiola‘s men made a dream start to the game as they scored the opener in the second minute thanks to Bernardo Silva’s great effort. However, Ruben Dias scored an unfortunate own goal in the 12th minute before Rodrygo got his name on the scoresheet in the 18th minute. Man City went into the half-time break 2-1 down on the scoreline.

Phil Foden scored the equaliser for the visitors with an excellent strike in the 66th minute before Josko Gvardiol found the back of the net as well with a brilliant strike just five minutes later. However, Real Madrid found the leveler because of Federico Valverde’s outstanding effort in the 79th minute. The contest finished with Man City earning an entertaining 3-3 draw at the Bernabeu.

He made a couple of solid saves at the back but conceded three goals during the game.

Akanji got stuck in with a few solid tackles and was accurate with his passing.

He scored an unfortunate own goal in the 12th minute and struggled to keep things solid at the back.

CB: John Stones – 7/10

Stones was a positive influence in both halves and ended the game with an assist to his name.

LB: Josko Gvardiol – 8/10

Gvardiol performed his defensive duties well and managed to score a great goal tonight.

CM: Rodri – 6.5/10

The Spaniard did his best to protect his backline but offered very little in the opponent’s half.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6.5/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

RW: Phil Foden – 7.5/10

Foden caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders and managed to equalise with an excellent strike in the 66th minute.

CAM: Bernardo Silva – 8/10

He worked his socks off and managed to get his name on the scoresheet early in the game.

LW: Jack Grealish – 6.5/10

Grealish made a couple of decent chances for his teammates and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

ST: Erling Haaland – 7/10

He was a real handful for the Real Madrid centre-backs but failed to register a goal.
