The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday have been announced, with David Webb set to take charge at Elland Road.
An earlier Elland Road fixture this campaign, United’s 3-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle, marked Webb’s 500th appearance in the English Football League.
The Durham-based official’s lengthy EFL career started back in 2008, after he had gained extensive experience on the non-league circuit.
November’s triumph over the Pilgrims extended the Whites’ impressive run in their fixtures when Webb has been in the middle, having now won eight times in 14 outings and drawing on four occasions.
Sheffield Wednesday, meanwhile, have struggled for form when the referee has overseen their matches, winning just nine of 26 and falling to defeat in 13 games.
Yet to be in the middle of an Owls fixture this term, Webb’s last involvement in a Wednesday clash saw Danny Röhl’s side edge past South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United away from home last campaign.
