Sheffield United comfortably dealt with the threat of Norwich City at Bramall Lane as they saw out a 2-0 win without conceding a shot on goal.

A brace from Harrison Burrows was enough to earn the Blades all three points to send United to the top of the Championship. His first goal came in the first half when his volley crashed against one post and ricocheted back to the other post before crossing the line in slow motion.

To clinch the win, Burrows was on penalty duties and he didn’t disappoint as the left-back dispatched the spot kick confidently beyond Angus Gunn.

Norwich bossed possession early on but they struggled to create anything from it. After a quiet opening 15 minutes, the Blades began to warm into the contest as Brewster saw a powerful effort deflected behind for a corner. The corner was only partially cleared and this led to Hamer testing Angus Gunn at his near post.

McCallum put a close-range volley narrowly wide in the 21st minute. But there was certainly no stopping Harrison Burrows’ long distance volley as his effort crashed from one post to the other before bouncing over the line to give the Blades a deserving lead on 22 minutes.

Gustavo Hamer then went close to a second with an audacious attempt from near the halfway line which was tipped over at the last second by Norwich goalkeeper Gunn.

O’Hare was the next player to come close as he tested the goalkeeper with a drilled effort down the centre of the goal from the edge of the box as Gunn came out to meet him moments before half-time.

Second Half

The visitors began the second half well, but they struggled to do anything offensively, and it was Sheffield United who found the next goal which sealed the win.

After McCallum was tripped inside the penalty area, the referee awarded a penalty for the Blades and it was Harrison Burrows who dispatched the penalty effortlessly to get his fourth goal of the season.

At the 70-minute mark, O’Hare came close to adding a third goal, his shot nearly catching Gunn off guard after deflecting off the retreating Duffy. In the seven minutes of added time, Doyle attempted a few long-range efforts, but none posed a threat to Cooper, as United secured a much-needed victory at Bramall Lane to go back to the top of the league.
