Serie A: Torino 2-0 Cagliari: Che Adams double delight | OneFootball

Che Adams hit a brace as Torino rose to a 2-0 victory at home against Cagliari in Serie A on Friday evening, as Paolo Vanoli and his team recorded their first victory since early December.

It took just six minutes for the Scotland international to claim his first of the evening. A well-worked Torino move saw Samuele Ricci carry the ball to the byline before cutting back to his teammate, who took a touch to stop the ball dead in the area before firing one in off the crossbar for 1-0.

Adams’s strike partner Yann Karamoh also came close to doubling his team’s advantage with half an hour on the clock.

Valentino Lazaro thought he had netted his first goal in Granata colours immediately after the start of the second half, but his effort was later ruled out after a VAR check.

Torino had a handful of chances to get even further ahead in the second half as well: The crossbar was struck and Elia Caprile was called into action to deny Adrien Tameze after 53 minutes.

Adams finally got his second just after the hour mark. Karamoh did well to bring the ball under control in the area before hitting the upright with his effort. Adams, however, was on hand to tuck away the rebound.

Tonight’s result means that Torino are still in 11th place in the Serie A table, where they began the evening, but are now level on points with Udinese above them and one point away from Roma in ninth.
