Somehow, Rasmus Hojlund’s dismal performances leading Manchester United’s line have made him a target for three top European clubs heading into the summer.
It’ll come as music to INEOS’ ears that sides are sizing up moves for the lacklustre Erik ten Hag signing, as United – albeit prior to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s partial stake being ratified – forked out £64 million to Atalanta while pledging a further £8m in add-ons to bring him to Old Trafford.
Barring a relatively satisfactory maiden campaign, which saw him score 10 Premier League goals and six in total across the FA Cup and Champions League, Hojlund has regressed significantly this term.

Indeed, the Danish international has found the back just four times in 31 league matches. Amad has played six games fewer and scored three more goals whilst also recording seven top-flight assists.
Alejandro Garnacho, who dropped to the bench for last night’s Europa League final, has also outscored United’s first-choice No.9, as has Bruno Fernandes.
A truly diabolical financial situation heading into the summer window will have INEOS accepting offers left, right and centre for players they deem surplus to requirements. For once, the squad can be fully trimmed down due to there being no European action added to the fixture list in 2025/2026.
Whether any of Holjund’s suitors will materialise their interest remains to be seen. As it stands, he has been shortlisted by Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli, the latter of sit atop the Serie A table by one point heading into tomorrow’s final game.
Hojlund, 22, spent one season in Italy before moving to England. He made 32 appearances for Atalanta, scoring nine goals and assisting a further four.
The striker’s contract runs until June 2028.
