Roma have started negotiations for the renewal of Mile Svilar, now among the best in Serie A and who has attracted the interest of English clubs such as West Ham and Manchester City.
According to Il Messaggero, the agreement includes a significant adjustment to his salary, considering that the Serbian is currently among the lowest paid in the squad.
Svilar currently earns around 1 million euros net, less than players such as Baldanzi (1.1 million) and Gourna-Douath (900 thousand euros gross until June).
Roma, considering him a key player for the future, intend to place him among the team’s big names in terms of salary, excluding only players such as Pellegrini and Dybala.
The aim is to offer him a contract similar to Koné’s, equal to 2.8 million net (5.4 gross) with progressive increases until it exceeds 3 million from the second season.
The agreement would also include personal bonuses and those tied to the club’s results, while the issue of the termination clause is not at the centre of the debate.
To comply with the parameters of the settlement agreement, the first year the salary could start from a more modest figure, and then progressively increase to 3.5-3.6 million in the final season.
A renewal that not only consolidates Svilar’s position among Roma’s starters, but that could be celebrated with a double happy event: the Serbian goalkeeper will soon become a father, one more reason to secure his future in the Capital.
