Roma’s transfer market is starting to get going.
The Giallorossi have guaranteed Gasperini “full power in choosing players”.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport writes, the newly appointed coach has asked for five or six top-level reinforcements, one for almost every department.
The list includes a central defender, two full-backs, an attacking midfielder and two forwards.
It’s not just about roles, but very specific profiles: Gasperini wants players who are functional to his style of play.
Among the profiles identified, negotiations are already underway.
On the defense and full-back front, Roma are looking at Maxim De Cuyper, left winger from Bruges, and Giorgos Vagiannidis, born in 2001, from Panathinaikos.
In midfield, Matt O’Riley from Brighton, an old obsession of Gasperini’s from his time at Atalanta, is back in the news.
For the offensive department, the coach wants a reliable and big center forward.
On the table are Gianluca Scamacca, who however has practically never played this season, and Nikola Krstovic of Lecce.
However, the future of Artem Dovbyk remains to be clarified: his permanence is not certain, but he does not exclude the arrival of another striker.
