Roma will have to do without captain Lorenzo Pellegrini for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, as he is expected to need around two months to recover from a serious muscular injury.
Pellegrini pulled up in training on Thursday and was forced to withdraw from Claudio Ranieri’s session. He reported for medical assessment on Friday and it has since been disclosed that he will be out of action for around two months.
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Pellegrini has a first-degree strain in his right hamstring, which means that he will be unavailable for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.

If Pellegrini does need a full two months of recovery, then he is likely to miss the beginning of Roma’s pre-season training after the summer break as well.
Roma have already lost Paulo Dybala to a season-ending injury, but the Giallorossi still sit at the top of the Serie A form table over the last 10 matches with eight wins, two draws and zero losses over that period.
As things stand, the Giallorossi are fifth in the Serie A standings, level on points (63) with Juventus in fourth and Lazio in sixth. Bologna, in seventh, are also just one point away from the Champions League positions with three matches of the 2024-25 season left to play.
