Roma are said to be the favourites to sign Boca Juniors defender Nicolas Valentini, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The Giallorossi have an extra weapon in the race for the centre-back, as coach Daniele De Rossi was briefly his teammate when playing for the Argentine giants in 2019.

Valentini is a product of the Boca Juniors youth academy and turned 23 in April, but his contract with the club only runs to January 2025, significantly lowering the asking price.
Napoli, Como, Lazio and Fiorentina had also been linked with him in the past, but Roma now seem to be the favourites in their pursuit.

More meetings are expected over the next few days to work out both the transfer fee and personal terms with the player.
Although with no senior caps for Argentina yet, he has been called up to the squad and is a regular at Under-23 level with eight appearances.
