Roma closing in on Chelsea youngster Tyrique George | OneFootball

New manager Gian Piero Gasperini has been quite clear all window that he wants more signings and it looks like Roma are going to give him a new attacker. As per Fabrizio Romano, the club are in contact with Chelsea for the signing of young winger Tyrique George. Talks are ongoing with both the player and Chelsea representatives to agree upon a deal. A permanent move seems to be the preferred option.

George, 19, comes from Chelsea’s academy and broke through last season, with a sizeable chunk of his minutes coming in the club’s Conference League winning run. He’s now been deemed excess to requirements however, with Alejandro Garnacho expected to come through the door at Stamford Bridge. The Englishman is quick and has the ability to play on either wing. At Roma, he could form part of an exciting frontline which already has the likes of Paulo Dybala, Mathias Soule and Evan Ferguson.

There are other clubs in the running too, with RB Leipzig having already discussed a deal for the player. It is believed that Chelsea’s asking price for him will be of around €15m.
