Roma seem to have decided on a sensational return of Claudio Ranier to the Giallorossi bench.
The veteran technician is in fact in pole position to become Roma’s new head coach for the third time in his career, following his most recent stint in 2019 when he came in to replace Eusebio Di Francesco until the end of the season.
In this case, too, Ranieri will take over managerial duties in a difficult situation as Roma sacked Ivan Juric on Sunday and currently sit in 12th place in Serie A.
According to Sky Sport, the Friedkins are pushing to appoint Ranieri within the next hours.
Ranieri boarded a flight to London this evening in the company of his agent.
The mission of this trip is to sign the contract and have him back in the Italian capital for Thursday’s training session.
The flight is indicative of the agreement being finalized.
