Could Rodrygo Goes join Liverpool from Real Madrid? Here's what we understand to be the latest on the situation.
Reports are running wild on Friday morning that Liverpool might be pushing for another transfer. This would be for Rodrygo Goes, who appears set to leave Real Madrid.
Sort of set, anyway. Los Blancos are certainly open to selling the player who doesn't appear to have a place under new coach Xabi Alonso.

Rodrygo barely featured at the FIFA Club World Cup and isn't thought to be in the plans right now. Not for a regular starting place, anyway.
But the Brazilian isn't exactly eager to leave Real Madrid. As much as they'd like to sell, they can't force him out and Rodrygo doesn't appear ready to give up on his career there.
Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola is among those saying Liverpool and Manchester City are testing the waters and trying to convince Rodrygo to leave for them. Here's where Anfield Watch believes things stand.
Anfield Watch understands that Liverpool do want to sign Rodrygo and have held initial talks. They'd sign him alongside Alexander Isak, in fact, as Luis Diaz's successor.
The Reds aren't eager to sign that successor and would head into the season with what they've got. However, Rodrygo is viewed as a player they don't want to miss out on - a market opportunity, as Florian Wirtz was.
The problem is that Rodrygo wants an awful lot of money. He initially wanted Mo Salah money in order to move and Liverpool would need him to drop that demand significantly in order to get a deal done.
Of course, those kind of demands are typically just a sign that a player doesn't want to move. We'll see how that changes.
The other factor here is Manchester City. They're eager to sign Rodrygo but it's understood Savinho would have to move on before they could make it happen.
He's been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, though. That one could yet go through.
A lot of moving parts here, then, with one week to go. We imagine the pressure on Rodrygo to leave will increase as the deadline approaches - he surely doesn't want to be stuck at a club that won't play him.
That pressure might reduce his wage demands and if that is the case, Liverpool may be able to make something happen.
