Mats Hummels is hoping to things to turn around following the sacking of Ivan Juric and the appointment of Claudio Ranieri at Roma.
Under the Croatian coach, Hummels had seen his appearances on the pitch reduced to a minimum, a fact that has caused concern.
Now, with the arrival of Ranieri, many are hoping that the situation of the central defender will improve. Robin Gosens, a Fiorentina defender and teammate of the German in the national team, has expressed his support for Hummels.
In an interview with the German portal t-online, Gosens said he hopes for a more promising future for his colleague, hoping that the change on the bench will favor his return to the pitch.
“I think Mats’ adventure really begins now. I would wish that with all my heart because I think he has had a really, really fantastic career so far and I think he deserves a better ending than what he has had.”
“We were and are in regular contact. The adventure at Roma has obviously been incredibly unfortunate for him so far.”
“Juric is a ‘very special’ coach who has a style of play that doesn’t really suit Hummels. Now he has a new coach in Ranieri who is doing many things differently.”
