Fiorentina midfielder Amir Richardson is at risk of missing the rest of Fiorentina’s matches for the remainder of the calendar year after picking up an injury while away on international duty with Morocco, according to updates on Thursday evening.
The 22-year-old, who joined Fiorentina from Reims in the summer transfer window, picked up a calf injury in training on Tuesday while away on international duty with Morocco.
He has since gone in for further medical tests, which have revealed a second-degree tear to the soleus muscle in his right calf. Fiorentina have added that he has already begun the rehabilitation process.
According to Corriere dello Sport, that particular injury tends to come with a lay-off period of at least a month and up to around 40 days, not including time to rebuild match fitness.
Given the date of the injury and the necessary recovery time, it is possible that Richardson remains out of actino until the beginning of 2025.
