Rice Gets 8.5, Raya With 8 | Arsenal Players Rated In Narrow Win Vs Newcastle United

Arsenal welcomed Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium earlier this evening as they hoped to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Gunners made a good start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
Declan Rice opened the goal-scoring for the North London club with a great strike in the 55th minute. Mikel Arteta’s men defended their lead well and secured a narrow 1-0 win at the Emirates.
Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player fared during the match against the Magpies.
GK: David Raya – 8/10
Raya made a handful of top saves at the back and secured an important clean sheet at home.
RB: Ben White – 7/10
He put his foot through the ball when he could and was tidy with his passing.
CB: William Saliba – 6.5/10
Saliba kept things solid inside his half and was replaced at half-time.
CB: Jakub Kiwior – 8/10
He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and did enough to keep a clean sheet.

LB: Myles Lewis-Skelly – 7/10
He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch.
CM: Martin Odegaard – 7/10
Odegaard was a constant menace in the final third and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
CM: Thomas Partey – 7/10
He got stuck in with a few solid tackles and was not shy of having a shot at goal.
CM: Declan Rice – 8.5/10
Rice proved his worth on both ends of the field and was responsible for scoring the only goal of the game in the 55th minute.
RW: Bukayo Saka – 7.5/10
He caused some problems for the opposition defenders but was a bit untidy with his passing.
ST: Leandro Trossard – 7/10
Trossard made a few dangerous runs with the ball but has got nothing to show for his efforts.
LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 6.5/10
Martinelli managed to shine at times but was mostly a quiet presence on the left flank.
CB: Riccardo Calafiori – 6.5/10
He was solid at the back after coming off the bench at half-time.
