Vinicius Junior was filmed in the tunnel predicting Valencia would "sh*t themselves" in the second half of their clash with Real Madrid - a game the Brazilian would later be sent off in.
Madrid did turn things around against the former La Liga champions thanks to late goals from Luka Modric and Jude Bellingham, the latter of whom had earlier missed a penalty.
The result sealed a vital three points for Carlo Ancelotti's Madrid, who now top the table ahead of neighbourhood rivals Atletico Madrid. Barcelona sit third in the table after a dismal run of form that has seen them lose three of their last five matches.
Vinicius apologised for his sending off on social media, though he did receive the backing of manager Ancelotti - the Italian saying his slap on goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski "wasn't a red, it was a yellow".
It has now emerged that prior to Madrid turning the game on its head, Vinicius - the runner-up in the 2024 Ballon d'Or and winner of The FIFA Best Men's Player award - predicted in the tunnel that Valencia would implode if the 15-time Champions League winners could find a goal.
"We have to respond with a goal," Kylian Mbappe said before Vinicius replied: "Of course, when they blow the whistle for fouls. We score a goal and they sh*t themselves. Just a little bit more, a little bit more and that's it."
The frustration for Madrid was that they should have got back into the game earlier than they did - Bellingham's penalty miss the third time Los Blancos have missed from 12 yards this season.
"It bothers me that we have missed three penalties," Ancelotti admitted to reporters before adding: "I think I have to take responsibility for choosing who is going to take them."
