Both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are keeping a close watch on Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez as part of their summer recruitment process.
In fact, according to a report from Fichajes, the two La Liga giants see the Argentine midfielder as a top target for their squads.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who joined Chelsea from Benfica in a deal worth over €100 million, has quickly become a key player at Stamford Bridge.
Now, his name is back on the radar in Spain, and it could lead to a fierce transfer battle between the two Madrid clubs.
Fernandez’s situation is causing plenty of discussion in England. Real Madrid have been following his progress for years, even back when he was still playing for River Plate in Argentina.
They see him as a long-term option to strengthen their midfield. At the same time, Atletico Madrid are also highly interested.

With several Argentine players already in their squad and the influence of manager Diego Simeone, they believe they could tempt Enzo to join their side instead.
It must be noted that Fernandez has shown incredible consistency since moving to Chelsea, starting 103 of the 107 matches he has played. Under new manager Enzo Maresca, he remains a core figure for the Blues.
Therefore, it is no surprise that Chelsea are reluctant to sell him. However, while reports from London suggest that the club is not open to letting him go, money could change everything.
If Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid decide to go head-to-head for his signature, fans could witness a major transfer tug-of-war this summer.
With both clubs prepared to spend big, Enzo Fernandez’s future could soon shift from the Premier League to La Liga.
