Rangers have set a monumental £25 million asking price for midfield talisman Nicolas Raskin, as interest mounts from the Premier League and beyond. According to TEAMtalk, Leeds United and Aston Villa, among others, are circling the 24‑year‑old, whose performances at Ibrox have been nothing short of exceptional.
Raskin’s stock has soared following an impressive season in the Scottish Premiership, lauded by Gers legend Peter Lovenkrands as “potentially the most valuable player in the squad” . With clubs across Europe now expressing interest, Rangers are keen to capitalise on their prized asset.
Under contract until 2027, Raskin gives Rangers a strong hand in negotiations. The reported £25 million tag would eclipse Calvin Bassey’s transfer to Ajax (£19.6 million, rising to £22.7 million via add‑ons) . Should a buyer meet the valuation, it would mark a record sale for the club.
Interest in Raskin isn’t limited to one county. Leeds United’s admiration dates back to his Standard Liège days in 2022, and they see him as a perfect fit for Daniel Farke’s high‑intensity system . Meanwhile, Aston Villa, under Unai Emery, are keen as they chase UEFA Champions League qualification.

Portuguese giants Porto, even after signing Gabri Veiga, reportedly remain in the mix. French side Marseille and Serie A’s Fiorentina are also tracking Raskin’s progress, drawn by his technical flair and aggressive style .
With backing from 49ers Enterprises, Rangers are preparing a lucrative contract to prolong Raskin’s stay at Ibrox . New manager Russell Martin is reportedly keen to build his midfield around the Belgium international. Yet the club’s sustainable model of nurturing and selling young talent might tip the scales if a big offer arrives.
From a Rangers supporter’s viewpoint, the potential departure of Nicolas Raskin for £25 million carries mixed emotions. On one hand, it’s testament to our development pathway—producing a player of genuine international calibre. A record‑breaking sale would signal financial prudence and allow reinvestment in the squad, particularly vital as we challenge domestically and in Europe.
Yet, losing Raskin feels like relinquishing a cornerstone of our midfield. His blend of composure, tenacity and technical quality has been instrumental in controlling big matches—whether those electric Old Firm clashes or European nights. His presence offers a level of leadership and creative spark that isn’t easily replaced. Even with smart recruitment and youth promotion, finding someone who combines versatility, Belgian international pedigree, and home‑grown passion is a tall order.
Russell Martin’s desire to build around Raskin speaks volumes. We must weigh short‑term ambition against long‑term club identity. If the money truly transforms the squad and we reinvest wisely, stepping back won’t be an outright rejection—it could be transformation through renewal. Still, as fans, we hope he remains the heartbeat of the midfield for many seasons yet.
