Negotiations are taking place with Strasbourg and the representatives of Ishé Samuels-Smith over a proposed move to the French club according to reports.
The Blues have acted quickly in the transfer market this summer and have already signed Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro.
The club haven’t ruled out signing another attacker, whilst they are also said to be in the market for a defender to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad ahead of the new season.
Whilst the Blues have done well to address deficiencies in their attack and improve it, there’s one area of the squad that still needs addressing.
Chelsea currently have no back-up at left back to Marc Cucurella, and they would have a major problem if the Spain international got injured.
Renato Veiga played that role during the first half of last season, but he joined Juventus on loan in January and is now set to be sold.

Youngster Samuels-Smith, who was at Strasbourg’s training ground on Wednesday was touted as a possible option despite not yet making his first team debut, but he was left out of the squad for the Club World Cup.
Samuels-Smith signed a new contract until 2031 in April, but it now appears he could leave the club on a permanent basis just three months later.
French outlet L’Equipe have reported negotiations are underway with the representatives of Samuels-Smith over a proposed €6m move to Strasbourg, with the clubs thought to be considering it.
Samuels-Smith is also attracting loan interest with four clubs said to be in talks to sign the 19-year-old, although nothing has materialised yet.
Links have been few and far between for left backs, and it’s something Chelsea really need to address this summer.
