Inter Milan could reportedly terminate the contract of veteran defender Francesco Acerbi by paying out a clause in his deal.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Libero, via FCInter1908. They report that the Nerazzurri are considering paying the Italian international €500,000 to end his deal early.
Francesco Acerbi has been an Inter Milan player for the past three years. He joined from Lazio in the summer of 2022.
During that period, Acerbi has been a stalwart at the back for Inter.
However, there is no getting around the fact that Acerbi is now well into his thirties. He will turn 38 next season.

And according to Libero, Inter Milan are considering cutting Francesco Acerbi loose.
The Nerazzurri want to focus on the future and build their project around young players. Therefore, they are ready to try and sign teenage defender Giovanni Leoni from Parma.
As such, Inter may decide that there is no room for Acerbi.
The 37-year-old is under contract with Inter until the end of next June. However, Inter do have the option to terminate the veteran defender’s deal.
As Libero note, there is a clause in Acerbi’s contract. If Inter give the former Lazio and Sassuolo defender a €500,000 payout, then his contract will end.
