Inter Milan will have three extra matches compared to Serie A title rivals Napoli in February.
This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note the factor that the Nerazzurri’s fixture congestion could play in the title race
It now looks clear that Inter and Napoli are the two teams vying for the Serie A title.
Atalanta have just about kept themselves in the title race with their comeback win over Como yesterday.
However, Napoli’s victory against Juventus was a real statement result.
Inter, on the other hand, are the reigning champions. They are temporarily six points behind the league leaders, but with two games in hand including this evening’s match against Lecce.
At the beginning of March, Inter and Napoli will face each other head-to-head.
That match already has the feel of a potential title-decider.

But in the meantime, both the Nerazzurri and the Partenopei will have a number of matches. The pressure will be very much on to keep winning and not slip up.
But Inter will find themselves with more on their plate during the period.
The Nerazzurri have a makeup match against Fiorentina in Serie A, for one thing. That will be decisive in determining whether or not they can draw level with Napoli at the top of the table.
Then, there are the cup competitions.
Inter Milan face Monaco in Serie A on Wednesday. Napoli, on the other hand, have had the luxury of no European football all season long.
Meanwhile, the Partenopei also went out of the Coppa Italia in December.
Inter, on the other hand, must face Lazio in the cup next month.
