An absence for AFCON next season is one factor in Inter Milan’s valuation of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
The status of Inter Milan’s pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman is still up in the air.
It’s been a couple days since La Dea’s bombshell rejection of Inter’s second offer for the Nigerian. They turned down a bid of €42 million plus €3 million in add-ons.
And Inter are still mulling over whether to return with another improved bid.

Inter could still tack another few million euros onto their offer for Lookman, of course.
However, as Tuttosport note, there could be one particular factor that pushes the Nerazzurri against going much higher with their offer.
Lookman is a regular starter for Nigeria. And the Super Eagles will be in action at the African Cup of Nations next season.
The tournament starts in mid-December. And it runs until the 18th of next January.
Therefore, there would be the prospect of Lookman missing as many as six Serie A matches for Inter while the tournament is taking place, should Nigeria reach the final.
At the very least, Lookman will be absent for a few matches. Furthermore, there is also the disruption that comes from travel.
Therefore, Tuttosport report, Inter may be reluctant to spend too much on a deal for a player who will have this absence in midseason.
