Rennes to sign Galatasaray right-back Przemyslaw Frankowski | OneFootball

Rennes are on the verge of signing Galatasaray right-back Przemyslaw Frankowski (30) on loan with a mandatory option to buy, according to Foot Mercato. The Ligue 1 side was in the market for a right-sided fullback after parting ways with Academy product Lorenz Assignon, who joined Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart. The outlet understands that Rennes and Galatasaray are close to reaching an agreement for the Pole to return to Ligue 1, only six months after leaving RC Lens.

Sources contacted by Get French Football News understand that club-to-club talks reached a breakthrough earlier this week, once it became clear that Rennes were the only interested party left. Frankowski agreed to sign for Rennes ten days ago. Paris FC dropped out of the race to sign Frankowski and turned their attention towards Real Sociedad right-back Hamari Traoré. As for Lens, who were also interested in reuniting with Frankowski, they are close to reaching an agreement with Roma for the signing of Saud Abdulhamid.
