Arnaud Kalimuendo (23) has been granted permission by Stade Rennais to hold talks with other clubs over a summer move. The news was confirmed by Rennes president Arnaud Pouille during an interview with L’Équipe.

Signed from Paris Saint-Germain for €25m back in 2022, the France youth international has quietly and calmly gone about his business, consistently registering strong figures in Ligue 1 and somewhat going under the radar. Last season, he netted 17 goals in what now looks likely to have been his final season at the club.

As per a report from L’Équipe, Bayer Leverkusen and Newcastle United have expressed interest in the Rennes striker. Kalimuendo, whose contract with the Breton club runs until the summer of 2027, has been granted permission to speak to suitors, as confirmed by Pouille.

He is one of the players who had a lot of contacts in January. We have authorised him to speak with other clubs,” confirmed the SRFC president. Rennes are hoping to garner a fee of over €30m for the centre-forward, which would see them make a profit on the player signed three years ago.
