Renato criticises Fluminense’s lapse in Bahia goal: “Losing focus”

After Fluminense's defeat to Bahia in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brasil, coach Renato Gaúcho was questioned about the team's lack of attention in some goals conceded during the last games. The coach emphasized that he has been alerting the squad and that the players also have a duty to work to avoid mistakes on the field.

"I have been talking to them, I have shown them in video that, hardly ever, the opponent has merits to score a goal against us. At certain times, we are lacking this focus and that we don't concede these goals... The coach works his team all week, or whenever possible, on a daily basis, even having a game every three days. He trains, he corrects, he talks, he shows the best way, polishes the player, does all his work... the players also have their responsibilities on the field. We have conceded some goals, which we should not have conceded, due to a lack of attention from one, two, or three. The opponent has not forgiven us." - declared Renato.

The Tricolor is preparing to face Santos for the 22nd round of the Brazilian Championship next Sunday (31), at 4pm, at Vila Belmiro.
