The General Shareholders' Meeting of Girona Fútbol Club, SAD has today approved the budget for the 2024/2025 season, which reaches a record figure of 113 million euros, consolidating the Club's growth in both sporting and economic terms.
This unprecedented increase is mainly due to the increase in television rights, which have grown by 80%, from 48 million euros in the previous season to 86.4 million euros this season, driven by the previous 3rd season, as well as by the participation in the UEFA Champions League.
Commercial revenues are expected to grow by more than 25% due to merchandising sales, ticket sales and the improvement and signing of new sponsorship agreements.
At the same time, the Club's expenses will also increase by more than 50% to over 101 million euros, driven by the increase in personnel costs associated with the playing staff, the rest of the operating expenses, as well as expenses to comply with UEFA infrastructure requirements.
Thanks to the profits generated by the sale of players, after tax, Girona FC expects to close the year with a net profit of 19.6 million euros, a figure that the Club is reserving to cover the possible reduction in income in the event of not qualifying for European competition in the 25/26 season.
Results for the 2023/2024 season
Last season, Girona FC made a net profit of 3 million euros thanks to a 22% increase in revenue. Improved TV rights, increased match day revenue and a 2-fold increase in merchandising sales took the Club from 56.5 million euros in 2022/2023 to 69 million euros in 2023/2024, a campaign marked by the team's qualification to compete in Europe for the first time.
